MAJI ATELIER was founded in 2021 by two sisters, Rana and Eda, whose dreams of bringing art and design together with fine porcelain caused them to embark on a brand new journey. This journey started with the dream of a tiny cup form and continued with hand-embroidered linens and unique objects. MAJI ATELIER’s goal is to create unique experiences with sculptural forms. Objects are inspired by art and mythology, stories from ancient Greece to the present are turning into forms.
SLEEPING BEAUTY
Porcelain object inspired by the classic European fairy tale, the story of the beautiful princess who fell asleep for 100 years. The tale, which was written down by the French writer Charles Perrault in 1697 and the by the German fairy tale compiler Grimm Brothers in 1812, was previously compiled by Italian poet Giambattista Basile as the moon, sun, and Talia, and was included in the book published after the Poet’s death in 1634. There are many versions of the tale, but in the most popular one the handsome prince wakes the cursed princess with a kiss. In our version, sleeping beauty is quite happy in her sleep, buried in her soft pillow, having beautiful dreams. It’s like she doesn’t need a kiss to wake her up.
CIRCE
Circe is a witch goddess in Greek mythology who represents metaphysics and irrationality. She is the daughter of Helios, the Sun God, and Perseus, whose git is witchcraft. She gained her real power not when she was born, like other Gods, but through her labor on the Island of AIAIE, where she was exiled. You should also listen to her story from Circe. She did her first magic not out of hatred but out of love.
The 24K gold glaze decoration of each product is very unique.
INFINITY
